Tell us about your role.
The most important tasks of my job are looking for the most advanced sensors used for banknote detection appliances, designing the hardware to control these sensors and developing IA algorithms.
What do you like most about working at Gunnebo Cash Management?
I love to be involved in a company which is always focused on developing new products with the most advanced technology. The world is changing really fast, and R&D is one of the most important key factors for success.
How has your career developed since you joined the company?
I joined Grupo Sallen just after finishing university and without expertise. Grupo Sallen and Gunnebo have helped me to grow as a professional and improve my skills. Moreover, it has been a pleasure to learn from my skilled and experienced colleagues.
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve been involved in?
The most rewarding project, in which I have been involved in, has been to develop the current banknote detection system that is incorporated in the Grupo Sallen new line products. It has been a challenge to develop a system with the most advanced technology to offer the best performance to the customers. Moreover, this system is one of the most secure in the world detecting counterfeit banknotes.
Britta Buchholz, Business Development Manager
“Supporting a network of international customers and colleagues is rewarding for me”
Britta has been with Gunnebo for almost a decade and works in product management and business development in Diemen, Netherlands.
What do you like most about working at Gunnebo Cash Management?
For me, it’s the international environment and working with my colleagues from around the world. I really enjoy the diversity of working across different markets and adapting to the different customer requirements. No one project is like the other and this variety of challenges makes daily work very stimulating.
How has your career developed since you joined the company?
I started out as a management trainee during which time I was stationed in three different countries – the Netherlands, Malaysia and South Africa. In 2014 I became Business Development Manager and last year added Product Management to my tasks. My role as Business Development Manager has been filled with constant new challenges and is currently covering the global banking market.
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve been involved in?
I do not have one project I would single out. What I find the most rewarding, to be honest, is supporting the international network of colleagues and customers which I’ve built up. They seem to value my input and recognise the effort I put in for them – and that is rewarding!
Eduard Gil, Sales Manager
“Despite joining during the pandemic, I’ve still been able to connect with a global network of colleagues”
Eduard joined Gunnebo Cash Management in 2020 as a sales manager working out of our Barcelona office.
What do you like most about working at Gunnebo Cash Management?
Working in a multinational company. Even though I joined the company shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic and not been able to meet most people in person, I’ve still been able to connect with many colleagues from around the world and share experiences.
How has your career developed since you joined the company?
When I started, I spent most of my time managing existing customers but after a short space of time I’m already contributing to the marketing plan and business development efforts.
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve been involved in?
Being involved at the transition we have made in Portugal. It was a very complex and extensive project but my participation will help us grown the business there.
Carlos Massa, Business Development Director
“I like providing solutions that actually make a difference to our customers”
Carlos is Spanish and has been with Gunnebo for 15 years. He is currently working within business development in Dubai, UAE.
What do you like most about working at Gunnebo Cash Management?
I enjoy the challenges that come with new customer requests, and the journey that starts with the customer business requirement and ends up with Gunnebo providing solutions that actually make a difference to a customer’s internal cash handling processes. It is also a pleasure to have follow-up conversations with these customers and hear about their level of satisfaction with our solutions.
How has your career developed since you joined the company?
I have been lucky enough to work in Europe, America, South-East Asia and the Middle East during my time with Gunnebo. I started with the company in 2006 as a Product Manager in Spain, where I spent four years growing the local business, before moving to a European business development role. I then moved to Ohio to help with the introduction of our products to the North American market before becoming part of the team in Singapore. In the summer of 2019, I moved to Dubai where I am currently the Business Development Director for Cash Management for the Middle East.
What’s the most rewarding project you’ve been involved in?
I’ve been involved in so many rewarding projects that it is difficult to choose one. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is seeing something grow from humble beginnings and then nurture it to become a success. I remember with great pleasure, for example, introducing our partner in the Dominican Republic to Cash Management, helping them start a brand-new company which focused solely on this line of products, and seeing its continued success since then.
Kevin Walker, Systems Engineer
“The team is always willing to help out whenever they can”

I most like the people I work with. Everyone on the team is always willing to help out whenever they can – and that’s been a big help to me in getting to know the business.
How has your career developed since you joined the company?
I’ve been able to work on a few projects to build up my project management experience which I am currently taking a master's degree in.
What's the most rewarding project you've been involved in?
One of the first projects I worked on was creating an instruction manual for installing software on one of our cash teller recyclers. This was my first time creating an instruction manual, I was excited for the opportunity as well as proud of the work I did. The instruction manual is now a part of the product training that is provided to our channel partners.
